John is the Tax Partner of the Firm and is one of its co-founders.
John is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the Irish Tax Institute. Having spent the early part of his career developing his skills with PWC and EY he went on to spend a number of years as Director of Tax with Grant Thornton prior to establishing HDS.
Over four decades John has built up a wealth of experience in his Tax Advisory & Planning role taking the lead on all tax engagements for our Corporate Group, SME and High Net Worth Individual clients. John’s hands on approach and proactive insights have served our clients well over the years and continue to do so.
John provides key tax advice across all the major tax heads including Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Gift/Inheritance Tax, VAT and Stamp Duties. His advice is applied to many aspects of our clients’ businesses including Business Sales & Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring, Business Start Ups, Property Transactions, Family Business Succession, Estate Planning, Tax Dispute Resolution and much more.
